Meet the Katy Art School Teachers!

Judy Vitolo

Coming to us from 26 years in the Katy ISD system, Art teacher Judy Vitolo is continuing her love for teaching young people the skills and the joys that come from making ART.  Before teaching she was employed to illustrate a variety of projects.   She has travelled to Italy to study the ancient art of mosaics, loves to draw, paint, create prints, using clay for small ceramic sculptures and generally enjoys sharing her knowledge. 

Randi Wolskij

Randi is a dedicated mother, artist, and teacher from Katy, Texas. She has been involved in art since childhood, and has a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Communication Design. In college she learned to work in many different mediums, including painting, drawing, metals, graphic and web design, and photography. She has had the privilege to teach art at several different schools educating children from early childhood to high school. In addition to being actively involved in her 3 children’s schools, she owned and ran My Arts and Carafes, a traveling sip-and-paint company that caters to both adults and children. She is passionate about sharing her love of art with kids, and believes that with desire and dedication, and when given the right guidance, anyone can be an artist!

Kim Robinson

Coming from 39 years of teaching - 19 years with Katyisd (Retiring from Cinco Ranch High School as the painting teacher and ceramic 3d Ap teacher, taught at West Memorial Jr High, West Memorial Elementary). 3yr.with Aleif Isd 15 yr. with Levelland isd and 2yr. with Portales New Mexico. During the time I was in Levelland I Also taught classes at Texas Tec and South Plans Collage. I was raised all over the world as a daughter to an Air force Pilot. Having the chance to experience the many cultural arts of the world, this is what made me fall in love with art. I persuaded art in collage even though my Father believed I would starve. I received bachelors in Art Education, Commercial art, Masters Elementary Education and an Ed specialist in Art. As I retire my father has look back and expressed his pride in my ability that I have touch so many lives with my Art and my teaching I love the art environment in which young artists are nurtured and encouraged to achieve, to build confidence in their ability to be creative. I believe with the right environment all is possible, and a story will be told through art.

Carla Otero

Carla was born and raised in Lima, Peru and attended the Catholic University of Peru. She has a Bachelors degree in Art and also attended the Institute of Design in Rome, Italy. Carla has been teaching art to elementary students for 14 years. She loves to teach art to children and considers herself fortunate to be able to enjoy their creativity and imagination.  

Carla currently teaches at Cimarron Elementary and will be teaching Summer Camp and Art After School in the Fall at Katy Art School.

Paige Melancon

Paige has her Bachelor Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas A&M University and is certified in all level Art.  After graduating from Texas A&M, Paige stayed in Aggieland and taught in Bryan ISD for three years. She recently moved to Katy to teach art at Rhoads Elementary and loves it!

Growing up, Paige spent a lot of time crafting, painting, and drawing with her Grandmaw whom she credits with her creativity and artistic talents. When she's not teaching art, Paige loves to travel, paint and draw, refinish furniture, craft, cook, be with family, and hang out with her Shih-Tzu Sully!
