Meet the Katy Art School Teachers!

Judy Vitolo

Coming to us from 26 years in the Katy ISD system, Art teacher Judy Vitolo is continuing her love for teaching young people the skills and the joys that come from making ART.  Before teaching she was employed to illustrate a variety of projects.   She has travelled to Italy to study the ancient art of mosaics, loves to draw, paint, create prints, using clay for small ceramic sculptures and generally enjoys sharing her knowledge. 

Randi Wolskij

Randi is a dedicated mother, artist, and teacher from Katy, Texas. She has been involved in art since childhood, and has a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Communication Design. In college she learned to work in many different mediums, including painting, drawing, metals, graphic and web design, and photography. She has had the privilege to teach art at several different schools educating children from early childhood to high school. In addition to being actively involved in her 3 children’s schools, she owned and ran My Arts and Carafes, a traveling sip-and-paint company that caters to both adults and children. She is passionate about sharing her love of art with kids, and believes that with desire and dedication, and when given the right guidance, anyone can be an artist! 

Maryam Rezazadeh

Maryam’s art education began in 2006 in Iran, where she studied and learned Oil painting and Watercolor painting.  She began her career as a professional artist in 2011, and has had several art exhibitions in Iran from 2013 to 2016.  She is an experienced art teacher, teaching both in individual and group settings, here in the US and back in her home country.  Maryam is anxious to travel back to Iran to return with her collections to put on exhibit here in Houston.  She will be teaching our advanced painting classes in Oil and Watercolor.

Hamed Emami

Born in Tehran, Hamed has studied art in Iran, Albuquerque, NM and Katy, TX.  Winner of several art awards, including the Golden Award, Peer’s Choice Award and Best College & High School Photographer.  Hamed has had several Art Exhibitions in both Albuquerque and Iran. Hamed also works for Digital Impact Studio as a 2D concept Artist and Illustrator.  New to the Katy area, Hamed is currently working as a substitute art teacher in KatyISD.

Carla Otero

Carla was born and raised in Lima, Peru and attended the Catholic University of Peru. She has a Bachelors degree in Art and also attended the Institute of Design in Rome, Italy. Carla has been teaching art to elementary students for 14 years. She loves to teach art to children and considers herself fortunate to be able to enjoy their creativity and imagination.  

Carla currently teaches at Cimarron Elementary and will be teaching Summer Camp and Art After School in the Fall at Katy Art School.

Paige Melancon

Paige has her Bachelor Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas A&M University and is certified in all level Art.  After graduating from Texas A&M, Paige stayed in Aggieland and taught in Bryan ISD for three years. She recently moved to Katy to teach art at Rhoads Elementary and loves it!

Growing up, Paige spent a lot of time crafting, painting, and drawing with her Grandmaw whom she credits with her creativity and artistic talents. When she's not teaching art, Paige loves to travel, paint and draw, refinish furniture, craft, cook, be with family, and hang out with her Shih-Tzu Sully!
